► (1) Product Overview
A 10 micron filter element is a core universal industrial fluid filtration component with a rated filtration accuracy of 10μm, which can accurately intercept solid impurities of 10 microns and above in fluids. As a medium and high-precision filter consumable, it balances filtration accuracy, dirt holding capacity and flow efficiency. It is suitable for various media such as hydraulic oil, lubricating oil, cooling water and industrial clean water. Widely used in machinery, railway, metallurgy, petrochemical, water treatment and other industries, it is an essential accessory to ensure stable operation of industrial equipment and extend the service life of oil fluids and machinery.
► (2) Shape & Structure Types
10 micron filter elements come in multiple standardized shapes and structures, compatible with mainstream global filter housings with strong universality. The main 5 types are listed below:
- Pleated Filter Element: The most common type. The filter media is pleated to enlarge filtration area within limited space, featuring high dirt holding capacity and low initial pressure drop. Metal or bonded glass fiber end caps are available, with inner and outer metal protective mesh to protect filter media.
- Powder Sintered Filter Element: Tubular filter sintered integrally with metal powder at high temperature. It has high rigidity, no risk of media shedding. The porous metal structure features high temperature and high pressure resistance, reusable after cleaning.
- String-Wound / Wire Wound Filter Element: Fiber or metal wire wound around porous support skeleton for graded filtration with stable structure. Ideal for pre-filtration of fluid containing plenty coarse contaminants.
- Basket / Strainer Filter Element: Basket-shaped with metal support frame. It can be equipped with sintered mesh or woven mesh media. Large opening for high flow rate, easy to assemble and disassemble, widely used for combined coarse & fine filtration in pipelines.
- Woven Mesh Filter Element: Rolled or welded metal wire mesh, single or multi-layer composite. High impact resistance, suitable for oil and corrosive medium filtration.
► (3) Core Filter Materials & Matching Applications
Different filter structures match different media. The material directly determines temperature resistance, pressure resistance, medium compatibility and application conditions:
- Glass Fiber (for pleated elements) Performance: Stable filtration rating, high dirt holding capacity, good resistance to hydraulic & lube oil, not reusable after clogging. Application: Railway maintenance machinery, hydraulic return / pressure lines of construction machinery, power plants, injection molding machine hydraulic systems. It is the dominant choice for 10 micron fine filtration in hydraulic systems.
- SUS304 / SUS316L Stainless Steel Powder Sintered Media (sintered filter elements) Performance: All-metal construction, high temperature & pressure resistance, corrosion resistant, reusable after cleaning, excellent anti-vibration performance. Application: High-temperature oil, corrosive fluid, high-pressure hydraulic systems; petrochemical, oil & gas, metallurgy. Suitable for harsh field vibration environments where fiber shedding is forbidden.
- Polypropylene PP (pleated / wound elements) Performance: Acid & alkali resistant, cost-effective, low temperature limit, non-reusable. Application: Industrial circulating water, chemical aqueous solution, mildly corrosive liquid filtration. Not suitable for high-temperature hydraulic oil.
- SUS304/SUS316L Stainless Steel Woven Mesh (woven mesh & basket filters) Performance: Flexible metal mesh, washable, impact resistant. 10μm grade requires multi-layer composite woven mesh. Application: High-flow oil pre-filtration, oil purifiers, basket strainers, pipeline filtration for mining machinery.
- Polyester Fiber (pleated filter elements) Performance: Good toughness and tensile strength, oil resistant, lower cost than glass fiber. Application: General lubrication systems, low-pressure industrial oil filtration, less stable precision compared with glass fiber.
